Andrew Emmerson
Principal Architect AIBC, MRAIC, RIBA
Andrew’s portfolio embraces a multitude of project types from Master Planned Communities to detailed interior design, developing enduring relationships with the development community, governing authorities, and public agencies. He is committed to the principle that good design enriches lives and stimulates both personal experience and social interaction. His most recent senior level projects include the design for Archetype, a complex mixed-used residential development in the False Creek Flats, and several highly sustainable mixed-use market, rental, and non-market housing developments.
Andrew received his Master of Architecture degree with distinction from the University of Nottingham, prior to registering with the Architects Registration Board and the Royal Institute of British Architects. Andrew joined GBL in 2003 and subsequently became a registered architect with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia and a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. Outside of the office, Andrew is part of the AFBC Advocacy Committee and an active founding member of the Urban Experience Alliance. He has served as Vice-Chair on the Richmond Advisory Design Panel and is a guest critic at the UBC School of Architecture.
