Jubilee House
The original Jubilee House, built in 1986, occupied the corner of Helmcken and Richards and suffered from a combination of structural problems and limited unit capacity. In the Summer of 2016, the tenants from this building moved across the road to a new housing facility that housed an additional 75 low-end market residents for an overall total of 162 affordable units. The income stream from the low-end market tenants will help subsidise the rents of low-income tenants. The units are supplemented by an array of amenity spaces including a library, kitchen, multi-purpose dining area, and a low-cost food store. A communal garden is located on the rooftop with extensive view and solar exposure within the heart of the Yaletown community.
